Opening Files on the SD Memory Card
To copy files from the microSD Memory Card to your NOOKcolor, do this:
1). Make sure that the microSD Memory Card is installed in your NOOKcolor. If it's installed, you'll see a large but-ton that says Memory Card at the top of the Library when you tap the My Files icon.
2). In the Library, tap the My Files icon in the Media Bar to displays a list of files.Your NOOKcolor displays a hierarchical list of files on your microSD Memory Card.
3). To open a file, press and hold on the name of the file. A pop-up menu appears.
4). Tap Open.
NOTE
You can use the steps above to access any files on the SD Memory Card. To transfer files from an SD Memory Card to internal memory of your NOOKcolor, connect your NOOKcolor to your personal computer, following the directions below. Transfer the files from the SD Memory Card to your personal computer, and then from your personal computer to the My Files folder on your NOOKcolor.
Transferring Files from Your Personal Computer to Your NOOKcolor
You can transfer files, including EPUB files, Microsoft Office files, photos, and music files, from your personal com-puter to your NOOKcolor.
To transfer files, do this:
1). Using the custom microUSB cable provided with your NOOKcolor, connect your NOOKcolor to your personal computer.
NOTE
Use only the microUSB cable provided with your NOOKcolor. Using any other cable might damage your NOOKcolor.
2). When you connect your NOOKcolor to your personal computer, your NOOKcolor will appear as a new disk drive called "media" on your personal computer. Drag the files you want to transfer onto the "media" drive.
NOTE
If you connect your NOOKcolor to a Windows PC, the PC might display a dialog box asking if you want to install a driver for a "NOOK." Click Cancel to close this dialog box. You do not need to install a special driver to transfer files to your NOOKcolor.
3). To organize the files, open the media drive. You'll see several folders on your NOOKcolor. Move your personal files in the My Files folder. Within the folder, you can sort files into these folders:
o Books
o Documents
o Magazines
o Music
o Newspapers
o Music
o Photos
o Videos
o Wallpapers
4). Put files in their proper folders.
o Put Microsoft Office files, .txt files, and PDFs in the Documents folders.
o Put music files such as MP3 files in the Music folder.
o Put photos such as .jpg files in the Photos folder.
o Put videos in the Videos folder.
5. When you have finished arranging files, eject the "media" drive from your personal computer to unmount the NOOKcolor file system.
6. Disconnect the microUSB cable.

o Word (doc, docx, docm, dot, dotx, dotm)
o Excel (xls, xlsx, xlsm, xlt, xltx, xltm)
o PowerPoint (ppt, pptx, pptm, pps, ppsx, ppsm, pot, potx, potm)
o Plain Text (txt)
o HTML (htm, html, xhtml)
Music Files
Your NOOKcolor can play the following types of music files:
o mid
o midi
o mp3
o m4a
o wav
o aac
o amr
Video Files
Your NOOKcolor can play the following types of video files:
o 3gp
o 3g2
o mp4
o m4v
o ogg
Your NOOKcolor supports:
o MPEG-4 Simple Profile up to 854x480
o H.263 up to 352x288
o H.264 Baseline profile up to 854x480
