Using iTunes to add ePub files to iBooks
The iBooks app for iPad and iPhone (a free download from the App Store) includes a built in iBookstore with access to thousands of books you can download and begin reading immediately. And because the iBooks app recognizes ePub, the most popular open book format in the world, you can also use it to read ePub books you get from other sources with your computer.
Just drag the ePub files into your iTunes Library (or select Add to Library from the iTunes File menu), then sync your iPad/iPhone with your computer (iTunes 9.1 required).
1. Download an ePub book to your computer desktop
2. Open iTunes, select "File" > "Add to Library" and Select the ePub book from your desktop or Just drag the ePub files into your iTunes Library
3. Connect your iPad/iPhone to your computer and click on it's icon in the iTunes window
4. Click on the "Books" tab
5. Check the box that says "Sync Books"
6. If "All Books" is selected then all books will be loaded onto the iPad/iPhone
If "Selected Books" is checked then you will need to manually check any book you wish to load onto your iPad/iPhone.
7. Click "Sync" or "Apply" from the bottom right corner of the iTunes window.
8. When syncing is finished you can open your iPad's/iPhone's "iBooks" app and find all the books you just loaded.
PDF files can be loaded onto your iBooks app using the same procedure as above and read on your iPad or iPhone..
